Support the San Mateo Library

The 2018 Author's Gala will support a ten-year space modification "Road Map" to further enhance community access and respond to the Library's evolving needs. The initial projects will focus on interior redesign at the Main Branch Children's Library, as well as the modernization of the circulation and reference desks at the Marina and Hillsdale Branch Libraries.

Help us meet our $50,000 Fund A Need goal and kick off construction of these highly anticipated and necessary upgrades this summer!

San Mateo loves its libraries! They enrich the lives of everyone in San Mateo regardless of age or economic circumstances. The San Mateo Public Library Foundation believes in the power of public libraries to change lives. Your contribution helps bridge the gap between what City funding provides and what the public needs from a 21st century institution. This support expands library services in significant ways, allowing the library to:

  • Fuel Technology Access and Innovation by providing public access computers, printers and scanners. The Library also now offers a laptop and mobile wifi lending program to patrons
  • Expand Outreach to the Community through high impact education and literacy programs that reach early learners, school age children, teens & adults.
  • Ensure Robust Collections of books and online collections. Check out the Library's free online collection. Impressive!!
  • Free Public Programs to the community. Last year, the Library hosted over 1,100 free programs for the community. Music, Art, Culture & More! The breadth of activities and speakers at the library is extraordinary.

Please join us in supporting the San Mateo Public Library.
