The Literary Society

Who We Are:

The Literary Society is a group of enterprising and enthusiastic volunteer supporters of the public library. LS members, in concert with the Foundation, plan and host the annual Author’s Gala. This signature fundraising event features a lively dinner, an intimate conversation with a prominent author and a live auction . All proceeds from the Gala support critical programs and services at our public library. Funds raised at the 2017 Gala helped to purchase a new Community Outreach Vehicle (slated to debut this Winter!) to bring the library closer to our most underserved communities. Past proceeds have allowed for extended library hours and increased technology access for all.

Save the date for next year’s Gala on May 5th, 2018 at the Peninsula Golf and Country Club! For more information about the Literary Society and to get involved, please call the Foundation at 650-558-9100 or email info@smplf.org.
